Ok so i'm going to do a music quiz with ye! See if ye can spot the song the lyrics come from.

The Lyric Challenge has two rules

ok seriously i'll give ye three sets of lyrics see do ye know them!
Lyric a)
This time I'm making my own now
Does this mean we're through
Does this mean it's gone

Lyric b)
Taking More Than Her Share
Had Me Fighting For Air

Lyric C)
Its late september and I really should be back at school

Two Degrees of Separation

I, like any other half arsed graphic designer, collect free postcards. Sometimes I'll even buy them if they're particularly nice, but more often than not, I just go for the free ones. You know, the ones on those little racks they have in pubs and cafes and in the Savoy by the ticket office. I like to stick them on my wall, like this:

So last night the Bear was looking at the ones I have by my bed and one in particular seemed to catch his attention. This one to be exact:

He hadn't noticed it before but reckoned it looked familiar so when he pulled it off the wall to read the back, it turned out that it was designed by none other than his lovely housemate! I can't remember where it even came from, seeing as it's been there on the wall for the last year and a half although I think Tcup might have given it to me, which makes it even more random!

Well I was amazed anyway.

It would seem that Asos have have deemed that ruffles are big for summer my favourites are below!

Apparently this is an investment piece (see look they have a big pink bubble telling us, so it must be true!) I don't think this would look good on my hips though oh well!

Diagnosis Awesome

For some reason I tend to end up being hungover at the Fashion Bloggers Brunches, and last Saturday was no exception. Although tasty bruschetta, Pollo Pesto and magical lemon and strawberry gelato brought me back around, as did the swanky swag bag of Benefit goodies and blogger banter. Score! Annmarie has the scoop and the photos, and ta very much to the Fresh Prince of Kildare for the spin back!

The rest of the weekend was taken up by watching the Blues Brothers, (for the first time no less. It's amazing.) the Eurovision, (although I missed Dita performing with the German entry. Raging.) and discovering a feature length episode of Diagnosis Murder that had MATLOCK in it. I kinda fell asleep during it though, but was kindly woken up by the Bear's housemate to catch the very end which featured Matlock and Dick Van Dyke singing a duet with a ukelale to kids in a hospital. Naturally.

Magic Shoooes?

Hello my chickens.

I've been off the radar with the last while due to that old unemployment chestnut and a not always reliable internet connection at home. So when I haven't been jumping through hoops for the dole office to prove that yes - I'm still me and no - I don't have a job anymore, here's some of the things I have in fact, been up to.

- Kissing plates of agar at the Science Gallery exhibition, Infectious. Here's mine and the Bear's lovely delicious bacteria a week or so afterwards.

Mmm, sexy! So who wants the shift then?

- Had a brilliant idea after hearing a story about a prank some lads played on their teacher; they stole the gates to his house and put them on a train to Galway, so the next logical step is to make a film out of it to rival Snakes on a Plane. Wait for it...GATES ON A TRAIN. Box office gold, and you know it.

- Went on the lash in Sligo and sweated the vodka and Lucozade out of my system by trekking through The Glen in wellies the next day. I say trekking, I really mean squelching through mud and climbing over bits of trees and getting a bit stuck in said mud on more than one occaisson.

And most importantly, this rather magic of places is where this legendary ad was filmed.

Jealous? YEAH. You should be. It was deadly.

Mailbox, Mailbox!!!!

This is so funny if you are a type nerd like me you'll will laugh your cacks off!

Apparently they are looking for a new presenter for xpose. Now maybe you know maybe you don't but i would love to work in telly I have stated in the past that I would happily make tea if it meant that I got to work in tv. I've wanted to do this course for about a year now and I haven't had the cash to do it, could this be my chance?

Going to see Coroline tonight. Looks Good Should be class as A) it's free and B) it's from the same crowd who made "The Nightmare Before Christmas"

from Henry Selick, visionary director of THE NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS, and based on Neil Gaiman’s international best-selling book, comes a spectacular stop-motion animated adventure - the first to be originally filmed in 3D! Coraline Jones (Dakota Fanning) is bored in her new home until she finds a secret door and discovers an alternate version of her life on the other side

The Art Of Lomography

All these images can be found here.
Lomography” is a term quite unknown to most of us, but many practice it. The name was inspired and derived from the Russian “LOMO” cameras. Lomography not only refers to photographs taken with the LOMO camera, but can also apply to casual photography taken with any ordinary camera.
I got really into this a couple of years ago and i have a few of my images up on our kitchen wall at home i might show you them tomo, but for now here is just an example of the image I found on the site above. They sell the cameras in Urban Outfitters but from what i can remember they are cheaper to buy online.
